Keep up-to-date with Dynamics NAV Support Life Cycles

It is important, as a Microsoft NAV software user, to be aware of your versions life cycle. Every release comes with a Mainstream Support end date and an Extended Support end date, the difference being:

    • Mainstream Support – The product is supported from its release for 5 years, where you can submit incidents which will then be rectified by Microsoft releasing updates to fix any issues.
    • Extended Support – Once the initial 5 years of Mainstream Support has expired, the product then enters the Extended Support phase, where Microsoft will not release regular updates unless it is a critical error to the respective version. They do, however, continue to release security related updates.

Once the Extended Support phase is complete, the product is then considered as no longer supported and you will need to upgrade your system. Therefore, it is important to have an idea of your versions life cycle so that you can begin to make arrangements to upgrade in a timely fashion so as to reduce the impact on your business.

We have created a table below, outlining each versions Mainstream and Extended Support life cycle for your convenience, and will keep it updated regularly.
